He outlined many reasons as to why we should reject the antihuman philosophy of the Merchants of Despair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3a88641f wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/norcel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/peters.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3287\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<strong>Morphed Humanity shaping a green future<\/strong>, Anicia Peters discussed some of the dilemmas around finding solutions to the urgency of the climate crisis and the shift towards a sustainable future, balanced against the navigation through the rise of artificial intelligence. A powerful force of immense potential, but with ethical concerns.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3a88641f wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/norcel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/persson.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3288\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his presentation:&nbsp;<strong>Human madness and the great filter<\/strong>, Erik Persson offered an explanation to the Fermi paradox. In that there is a particularly nasty threshold that tends to weed out all life forms and all civilisations before they get to the degree of technological ability that lets them colonise the Universe. Also asking \u2013 are we at a point where we are close to exterminating ourselves and maybe all other life on Earth?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3a88641f wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/norcel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/onyige.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3289\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chioma Daisy Onyige\u2019s talk was entitled:&nbsp;<strong>The Climate Quandary: Unravelling the Threads of Collective \u2018Madness\u2019 in Our Response to Global Crisis<\/strong>. In this she focussed on navigating the thin line between rationality and \u2018Madness\u2019 in humanity\u2019s response to climate change. She examined the pros and cons of sustainability and positive change, as against denial.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3a88641f wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/norcel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/kee.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3290\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In asking the question:&nbsp;<strong>\u201cWhat isn\u2019t&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/norcel.net\/dictionary\/life\/\">Life<\/a>?\u201d<\/strong>, Terry Kee examined human madness in relation to the terms of the understanding of our identity.
